Achieving Digital Trust: Confronting the Dragons of Ethical Nightmares

Distributed ledgers. Machine learning. Artificial Intelligence. Quantum Computing. These current innovations, and those we cannot yet imagine, are already confronting IT executives with sleepless nights and uncomfortable conversations with CEO’s, Board members, investors, regulators, and customers.
Do we understand how these innovations truly work? When can we defer to the machines to make critical decisions? Are any of these tools, alone or in combinations, ethical to use in business? Can the resulting data, insights, and strategic recommendations be trusted to be fair? Who is responsible when things go wrong?
IT executives must be able to confront and defeat these questions in order for their leadership to be trusted.
